Biography

Vicki Nash is a political theorist and the Director and Associate Professor at the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford. She researches governance challenges posed by digital technologies, with a particular focus on online safety and platform regulation. Her recent work includes analyzing age verification policies that balance the interests of children and adults online, and the implications of the UK Online Safety Act. Nash holds advisory roles on several digital policy platforms, including the UK Government’s multi-stakeholder UK Council Internet Safety Evidence Group and the World Economic Forum’s Digital Safety Coalition. She has also provided expert evidence in UK and EU policy consultations regarding broader issues of platform governance and internet regulation. Before joining the OII in 2002, she was a Research Fellow at the Institute for Public Policy Research. Nash earned her D.Phil in Politics from Nuffield College, and her M.Phil and BA (Hons.) in Politics from Magdalen College, Oxford.
