Biography

Victoria Shepard, M.D. is an Assistant Professor and Associate Program Director for the Family Medicine Residency at Dell Medical School, University of Texas. She began her teaching career in 2020, contributing to the education of future physician leaders. Originally from Tyler, Texas, Dr. Shepard pursued a degree in Geography from the University of California and served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Kenya before embarking on her medical career. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch, followed by residency training in Family Medicine at John Peter Smith Health Network, where she was elected chief resident by her peers. Dr. Shepard completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Her research and clinical interests focus on palliative care within primary care settings and innovations in health care delivery. Outside of her academic work, she enjoys traveling, shopping at Goodwill outlet stores, and sewing.
