Biography

Victoria Sparks serves as an Instructor at the Desautels Faculty of Music at the University of Manitoba. She has performed regularly as a soloist in various chamber music series in Winnipeg and holds the position of principal timpanist/percussionist with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra. Sparks is the founder and director of the Manitoba Band Association's Prairie Percussion Workshop, designed to foster young percussionists. She holds a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Manitoba, as well as a Master of Music from Butler University. Her ongoing research includes creative works that explore unique instrumentation. She has garnered multiple project grants to support her initiatives in percussion education and performance, highlighting her commitment to the art form.
