Dr. Vijay Krishnamoorthy

Biography

Vijay Krishnamoorthy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and the Department of Population Health Sciences at Duke University. His educational background includes a Ph.D. from the University of Washington and an M.D. from the University of Illinois, College of Medicine. He has a concentrated research focus on the impact of autonomic dysfunction on multi-organ dysfunction in severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) and has been awarded several grants for his investigations in this area. His work includes the AUTO-BOOST study and various trials aimed at optimizing brain oxygenation in TBI patients. Dr. Krishnamoorthy's research also delves into the clinical impacts of myocardial injury during trauma, cardiovascular risk prediction, and improvements in maternal health through anesthesia practices. He has contributed extensively to the field through his studies and has held previous appointments as an Assistant Professor in related fields.
