Biography

Vijay Limaye is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Population Health Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also serves as a researcher in the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment. Dr. Limaye supports classroom training for medical students on climate change health topics and works on broader efforts to strengthen climate change health content in course curricula across the UW campus. In addition to his academic role, he is a Senior Scientist at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), where he leads applied research on the significant health-related financial costs associated with climate change in the U.S. His work focuses on improving resilience to climate hazards, particularly in India. Dr. Limaye earned a B.A. in Environmental Sciences from the University of California-Berkeley and a joint Ph.D. in Epidemiology and Environment Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
