Vijay Parsa received his B.Eng. degree from Osmania University, India in 1989, followed by an M.E.Sc. degree from the University of New Brunswick, Canada in 1992. He earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at the same university, where he developed innovative methods to mitigate interference in evoked potential recordings. In 1996, he joined the Hearing Health Care Research Unit as a post-doctoral fellow and received the Shaw Memorial Postdoctoral Award from the Canadian Acoustics Association for his work on advanced electroacoustic measurements of hearing aid performance. Dr. Parsa later became a Research Engineer, focusing on the development of speech audio processing algorithms for applications in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology. In July 2002, he was appointed to the Oticon Foundation’s Chair in Acoustic Signal Processing, a joint position between the Faculties of Health Sciences and Engineering. His work primarily focuses on interdisciplinary research in the applications of acoustic signal processing within Audiology.
