Biography

Vikki Abrahams is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at Yale School of Medicine. She received her B.Sc. (Hons) in Immunology in 1996 and was awarded her Ph.D. in Immunology in 2000 from University College London. She completed her postdoctoral training at Dartmouth Medical School and Yale University, focusing on Reproductive Immunology. In 2004, she joined the faculty at Yale School of Medicine. Her research is concerned with understanding the roles of the innate immune system, specifically Toll-like receptors and nod-like receptor family members, in maternal-fetal immune responses and pregnancy outcomes, particularly in the context of complicated infections and autoimmune diseases. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Immunologists and the American Society of Reproductive Immunology, and serves on editorial boards of numerous journals in her field. Additionally, Abrahams has received multiple awards for her research contributions, including the American Journal of Reproductive Immunology Award.
