Biography

Ying Tung Vikki Ho is an Associate Professor at the University of Montreal, specializing in the role of environmental factors in cancer etiology and prognosis. Her research focuses on modifiable environmental exposures that can prevent cancer, particularly examining dietary habits related to exposure to heterocyclic aromatic amines and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, as well as occupational exposures to pesticides and other chemicals. Vikki's work encompasses three main themes: identifying lifestyle and environmental factors affecting cancer risk, employing molecular epidemiological approaches to investigate the relationship between these factors and cancer development, and exploring how modifiable factors influence cancer prognosis. She also evaluates dietary quality in cohorts and determines predictors of serum vitamin D levels in healthy women in Montreal. Her comprehensive research aims to inform future cancer prevention strategies and improve patient outcomes.
