Biography

Vikram Chib is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. His research focuses on understanding human brain processes related to both internal and external rewards, and how these signals motivate behavior. Chib's interests lie in decision making, rewards and incentivized performance, motivated behavior, neuroeconomics, and incentive mechanisms. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh, followed by a Master's and PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University. Additionally, Chib completed a postdoctoral scholarship at the California Institute of Technology and held a postdoctoral fellowship with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science at the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute in Kyoto. He also has a joint appointment as a research scientist at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and the affiliated Kennedy Krieger Institute.
