Biography

Dr. Krishnamurthy’s current research interests include statistical signal processing, stochastic optimization, inverse reinforcement learning applications, social networks, radar systems, and blockchain. He is the author of the book titled “Partially Observed Markov Decision Processes: Filtering Controlled Sensing,” published by Cambridge University Press in 2016. He was elected Fellow of the IEEE in 2004 and served as Distinguished Lecturer for the IEEE Signal Processing Society from 2009 to 2010. Additionally, from 2010 to 2012, he served as Chief Editor for the IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Signal Processing. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden in 2013 and held the Canada Research Chair position at the University of British Columbia from 2002 to 2016. Dr. Krishnamurthy has graduated more than 25 PhD students who have gone on to hold leading positions in academia and industry.
