Dr. Viktor Ahlqvist

Biography

Viktor H Ahlqvist is a postdoctoral fellow at Aarhus University specializing in statistical genetics and precision psychiatry. His research primarily focuses on understanding neuropsychiatric conditions such as ADHD and autism, which are associated with an increased risk of developing neurodegenerative diseases like ALS and Parkinson's with age. His background includes a strong emphasis on pregnancy drug safety, statistics, and causal inference. His doctoral thesis investigated the benefits and risks associated with the use of antiseizure medications during pregnancy, leveraging registry-based pharmacoepidemiological surveillance and causal modeling techniques. In addition, he contributes to studies in preschool health and cardiovascular epidemiology, advancing methodologies in causal inference. He has extensive experience in teaching biostatistics within public health and medical education, covering topics such as causal inference and applied statistical analysis.
