Dr. Viktor Prasanna

Biography

Viktor K. Prasanna holds the Charles Lee Powell Chair in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Southern California. He serves as the director of the Center for Energy Informatics and is an associate member of the Center for Applied Mathematical Sciences. His research interests encompass High Performance Computing, Parallel Distributed Systems, Reconfigurable Computing, Cloud Computing, and Smart Energy Systems. Prasanna has a comprehensive academic background, having earned his Bachelor’s in Electronic Engineering from Bangalore University, a Master’s in Computer Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, and a Doctoral degree in Computer Science from Pennsylvania State University. He has published extensively in these fields and has been actively involved in editorial roles for prominent journals, including the IEEE Transactions and ACM publications. His contributions to reconfigurable computing have earned him accolades such as the W. Wallace McDowell Award from the IEEE Computer Society and recognition as a Fellow of IEEE, ACM, and AAAS. In addition, he has received several prestigious awards for his research papers presented at international forums.
