Dr. Vincent Cryns

Biography

Dr. Vincent Cryns is a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, specializing in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. He is the chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism and holds the Marian Rodney P. Burgenske Chair in Diabetes Research. Dr. Cryns is also a co-leader of the Physician-Scientist Training Program (PSTP). His research is primarily focused on understanding the connections between metabolic stress and breast cancer, with the goal of developing diagnostic approaches and new treatments for the disease. His work has been recognized and featured on various platforms, including National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered,” O, Oprah Magazine, ESPN, and Nature Reviews Cancer. In addition to his research, Dr. Cryns has received numerous accolades, such as being an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and recognition as a Doctors America awardee. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Endocrine Society, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Association for Cancer Research.
