Biography

Vincent Groenhuis is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Twente. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science along with a secondary Bachelor's in Applied Physics, followed by a Master’s in Embedded Systems and a PhD in medical robotics, graduating cum laude. His research primarily focuses on MRI-guided breast biopsy techniques and the development of novel 3D printed pneumatic stepper motors. Groenhuis teaches multiple courses, including Modeling & Control, and facilitates projects for BSc and MSc students in the fields of robotics and imaging. He is dedicated to broadening the application of robotics in medical diagnostics and treatment, particularly in addressing cancer diagnosis using advanced robotic systems. His work has led to technological advances that enhance diagnostic procedures and treatment methodologies. Groenhuis is also involved in the development of next-generation robotic systems designed for bladder cancer diagnostics.
