Biography

Professor Vincent Lam is a consultant Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Transplant surgeon at Westmead Hospital and the Head of the Department of Clinical Medicine at Macquarie University. He completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney in 1998 and underwent general surgical training, finishing in 2006. Following his fellowship training in hepatobiliary and pancreatic transplant surgery at Westmead Hospital and Queen Mary Hospital in Hong Kong, he graduated with a Doctorate of Clinical Surgery from the University of Sydney in 2013, focusing on surgical resection of colorectal liver metastases. He holds various leadership positions including Deputy Chair of the Medical Staff Council at Westmead Hospital and is involved with the NSW Board of General Surgery at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He is a former president of the Australian Chinese Medical Association. His research interests and clinical practice emphasize minimally invasive and robotic surgery, particularly in the management of liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and bile duct cancers.
