Biography

Vincent Piguet is a Professor and Clinician Scientist specializing in dermatology. He trained at the School of Medicine, University of Geneva, graduating in 1995. He has extensive research experience in virology and immunology, having spent years at the Salk Institute in San Diego, where he obtained his MD and PhD in 2000/2001. Piguet holds specialist certification in dermatology and venereology from the Swiss Medical Association since 2004. He received a prestigious fellowship from the Swiss National Science Foundation in 2003 and was later promoted to assistant and associate professor at the University of Geneva. In 2010, he joined Cardiff University as Professor and Chair in the Department of Dermatology and Wound Healing and served as a Consultant Dermatologist at the University Hospital Wales. Piguet has delivered over 100 lectures at national and international meetings, including the World Congress of Dermatology and HIV Keystone meetings. He has authored more than 145 publications in high-impact journals on topics such as dendritic cells, HIV, immunology, and vaccination. Furthermore, he serves on the editorial boards of journals like the Journal of Investigative Dermatology and is the past president of the European Society for Dermatology Research. His laboratory is based in the Medical Sciences Building at Women's College Hospital.
