Biography

Vincenzo Bavoso is a Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Manchester, having been appointed in August 2024 after previously serving as a Senior Lecturer since June 2019 and a Lecturer starting September 2014. He completed his PhD in Corporate Financial Law at the University of Manchester in 2012. His career includes a post-doctoral research associate role with the Tipping Points Project at Durham University, where he focused on multidisciplinary research relating to the global financial crisis and the banking sector. Prior to academia, he practiced law in Italy and worked in-house in Monaco and the UK. His research interests lie at the intersection of finance and corporate law, particularly in financial regulation and corporate governance. He has been involved in various projects, including contributions to the Sustainable Companies project and the European Parliament on securitisation issues within the EU Capital Markets Union. Professor Bavoso has published and presented widely on topics surrounding financial law and regulation, and he actively supervises doctoral students in related research areas.
