Dr. Vincenzo Nardelli

Biography

Vincenzo Nardelli graduated from Politecnico di Bari, Italy, with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering and a Master's degree in Civil Engineering. He then pursued a PhD in Civil Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong, focusing on the micromechanical characterization of granular materials. His research achievements include publishing articles in Géotechnique and receiving the Geotechnical Research Medal from the Institution of Civil Engineers in 2020. He completed a postdoctoral position at the University of Hong Kong, primarily conducting experimental research on treated sands. With three years of experience in the construction industry as a consultant on large-scale projects, including land reclamation and tunneling, Vincenzo joined the University of Oxford in 2022. He previously served as a Lecturer in Civil Engineering at Birmingham City University, where he taught Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering. His research interests encompass advanced soil testing, micromechanics of granular soils, experimental apparatus design, and offshore foundations.
