Dr. Vineet Kamat

Biography

Vineet R. Kamat is the John L. Tishman Family Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Michigan. He specializes in Construction Management with a comprehensive focus on sustainability and automation robotics. His research interests span various areas including the applications of robotics in construction, the operation and maintenance of civil infrastructure, and enhancing built environments through technological innovation. Kamat has made significant contributions to the field, including being a member of the Board of Directors for the International Association of Automation Robotics in Construction and serving as an associate editor for the ASCE Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the Construction Management Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers in 2022 and the Fellow designation from the same organization. Kamat holds a Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he has developed a robust academic and research background that informs his teaching and public service activities.
