Dr. Vinicio De Jesus Perez

Biography

Vinicio de Jesus Perez received his MD from the University of Puerto Rico Medical School and completed an internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. He also completed a pulmonary critical care medicine fellowship in Denver and postdoctoral research training at Stanford University. His research focuses on investigating the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying pulmonary hypertension and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and he is dedicated to clinically diagnosing and managing these conditions. He currently serves as an associate professor of medicine and a staff physician at the Stanford Adult Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic, where he trains fellows pursuing careers in pulmonary hypertension and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Dr. de Jesus Perez is the principal investigator of a research program aimed at identifying new therapeutic targets for treating pulmonary hypertension and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He is also involved in various academic and administrative roles, seeking to improve access to care and the quality of life for patients afflicted with cardiopulmonary disorders.
