Biography

Vinod Singhal is the Charles W. Brady Chair Professor of Operations Management at the Scheller College of Business at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, USA. He holds a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from BITS, Pilani, India; an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India; and a Ph.D. from the University of Rochester, USA. Before joining Georgia Tech, he worked for several years as a Senior Research Scientist at General Motors Research Labs. His research primarily focuses on the impact of operating decisions on accounting and stock market-based performance measures. Singhal’s work has been recognized by grants from the Department of Labor, National Science Foundation, and the American Society for Quality, among others. He has published extensively in academic journals and delivered more than 130 presentations at various universities. His research has been cited in practitioner publications such as Business Week, The Economist, and Fortune. He serves as the Departmental Editor for Production Operations Management and as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Operations Management. Singhal has taught across multiple programs including undergraduate, MBA, executive, and PhD levels, and has received several teaching awards.
