Biography

Virgilio Valente received his Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from University College London (UCL), U.K., in 2011. He has held postdoctoral faculty positions at UCL and Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. In 2015, he joined Tetrivis LTD in the U.K. as an IC design engineer. In 2017, Virgilio was a Visiting Scholar at the Nano Lab at Tufts University in Medford, USA. His research focuses on the design of integrated sensor systems, including insertable and injectable wireless biosensor networks, with applications in wireless health monitoring and diagnostics, and closed-loop therapy. Valente is a Senior Member of IEEE and is a member of the IEEE BioCAS Technical Committee as well as the IEEE ICECS Technical Program Committee. He served as Track Chair for the IEEE Asia Pacific Conference on Circuits and Systems (APCCAS) in 2019, held in Bangkok, Thailand.
