Biography

Virginia Healy-Tangney is a Senior Lecturer in Managerial Communication at the MIT Sloan School of Management and an affiliate of the MIT Leadership Center. She teaches Communication for Leaders and Advanced Leadership Communication for full-time MBA students and Sloan Fellows. Virginia co-created and teaches the ID Lab, a unique leadership development course for first-year MBA students at MIT Sloan. Additionally, she coaches and teaches in MIT Sloan’s Executive Education programs and has mentored startup teams as part of international study tours focused on financial innovations in the social sector. Before joining MIT Sloan in 2007, Virginia was the Director of Executive Communications at State Street Corporation, where she led brand messaging and communication development for C-suite executives. She holds an AB in English Literature from Boston State College, an MA in English Rhetoric from the University of Massachusetts, and an MS in Communication Management from Simmons College.
