Biography

Vish Krishnan is the Jacobs Family Chair in Management Engineering Leadership at the Rady School of Management, University of California San Diego. He is one of the founding faculty members at Rady, bringing significant start-up and business experience to the institution. Professor Krishnan specializes in innovative teaching and research in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship, and product management. He has developed the Lab to Market course series, providing Rady students with hands-on experience in entrepreneurship and the opportunity to develop their own businesses. Professor Krishnan is also the Faculty Director of Rady’s Entrepreneurship Initiative and serves as an Associate Director at the Institute for Global Entrepreneurs, a joint venture with the Jacobs School of Engineering. His research focuses on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of innovative operations in various ventures, particularly in collaboration with the School of Medicine through grants from the National Institutes of Health and the State of California. In addition, he has been involved with numerous start-up teams and provides advisory support to several major international companies. Professor Krishnan earned his doctoral degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and has held editorial positions at prominent academic journals that cover innovation, entrepreneurship, and operations management. He has been recognized as a valuable professor by Rady students over the past four decades and has been invited to teach at esteemed institutions including MIT and Harvard University.
