Dr. Vishal Sachdev

Biography

Vishal Sachdev is a Clinical Associate Professor in Business Administration and serves as the Academic Director for Business Analytics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he has been a faculty member since 2008. His research interests center on the role of technology in facilitating collective action, cooperative production, and information sharing, focusing on how these elements can enhance collaboration in learning environments. Sachdev also explores gamification in education and the emerging paradigms in social networks which provide new theoretical lenses for understanding engagement. He has received several honors, including the Emerging Award for Excellence in Public Engagement and has been recognized multiple times as an Excellent Teacher at the university. His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master’s in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. With significant experience as a lecturer and director, he has contributed to various educational initiatives, focusing on enhancing the learning experience through innovative technologies.
