Biography

Dr. Vishnu Amaram Samara Simha Subhash Chandra is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Chicago. He received his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences with a focus on Diabetes from the Irell Manella Graduate School of City of Hope in Duarte, CA, in July 2020. Following this, he completed a Clinical Chemistry fellowship at the David Geffen School of Medicine in UCLA, Los Angeles, CA, in August 2022. Dr. Chandra has been recognized for his contributions to the field, receiving the 2019-2020 Predoctoral Fellowship from the American Heart Association and the Satya Bhama Murali Endowment Medal from JIPMER-Indian Ministry Health & Family Welfare in 2010. He is also honored as an ASCP 2025 Forty Honoree by the American Society Clinical Pathology. His research interests focus on various aspects of Clinical Chemistry, including RNA, long noncoding RNA, vascular macrophage activation, and smooth muscle chondrogenesis. Dr. Chandra has published various works and actively engages in academic communications through platforms like Twitter where he shares insights and updates related to his research and professional journey.
