Biography

Professor Limongelli obtained his PhD in Drug Sciences in 2007 and subsequently completed a PostDoc at ETH Zurich, focusing on enhanced sampling simulations related to drug/target binding interactions. He received the “Premio Scrocco” in 2013 from the Division of Theoretical and Computational Chemistry of the Italian Chemical Society for his original contributions in applying advanced computational methods to biological phenomena. In 2016, he was honored with the Young Researcher in Medicinal Chemistry award by the French Medicinal Chemistry Society, followed by a meritorious runner-up position for the Young Medicinal Chemist prize by the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry (EFMC) in 2017. Limongelli was recognized as one of the top 5 scientists in the physical and chemical sciences by the USERN prize in 2020, and he has authored more than 70 publications in high-impact journals such as Nature Communications and PNAS. In the same year, he received an ERC consolidator grant for his research.
