Biography

Viveck received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine in 2006. From 2011 to 2014, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Boston University in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and the Research Laboratory of Electronics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His research interests encompass telecommunications, information theory, machine learning, wireless communications, distributed algorithms, systems, and cloud computing. Viveck's group is known for conducting significant research projects involving systems prototyping and implementations. His contributions to the field have been recognized with numerous awards, including the 2009 IEEE Information Theory Society Paper Award and the 2014 IEEE International Symposium on Network Computing Applications (NCA) Paper Award. He also received the NSF Career Award in 2016 and the Google Faculty Award in 2019. Currently, he serves as an associate editor for the IEEE Transactions on Communications.
