Dr. Vivek Parwani

Biography

Vivek Parwani, MD, MHA, is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Yale School of Medicine and serves as the Medical Director of the Adult Emergency Department at Yale New Haven Hospital. He specializes in emergency medicine and focuses his research on improving emergency department throughput and quality measures. Dr. Parwani is dedicated to enhancing operational efficiency and patient outcomes in high-pressure environments. His leadership has led to significant operational redesign initiatives at Yale New Haven Hospital, aimed at enhancing patient flow and care delivery. He has received local, regional, and national recognition for his initiatives in healthcare quality improvement, particularly within emergency department operations. Dr. Parwani is also deeply committed to mentorship and education, guiding residents and faculty in their professional development and reinforcing the next generation of emergency medicine leaders. He earned his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and completed his residency at Beth Israel Medical Center.
