Biography

Vivek Subramanian is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University in 1994, followed by an M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1996 and 1998, respectively. Subramanian co-founded Matrix Semiconductor, Inc. in 1998 and joined the Berkeley faculty in 2000, where he progressed from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor, and then to Full Professor in 2011. He later moved to the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland in 2020, while maintaining an adjunct appointment at Berkeley. Among his accolades are the NSF CAREER Award, IEEE Kiyo Tomiyasu Award, and IEEE Paul Rappaport Award, as well as the EE Department Outstanding Teaching Award in 2006.
