Vivian Asare, MD, is a specialist in sleep medicine, trained and certified in Internal Medicine. Her clinical interests include sleep-disordered breathing and REM sleep behavior disorder, particularly in patients with post-traumatic stress disorder and parasomnias. She completed her fellowship in Sleep Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and her Internal Medicine residency at Tufts University Medical Center in Boston. Asare earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Brown University. She is the Associate Medical Director of the Yale Centers for Sleep Medicine and Vice Chief of Collaborative Excellence in the Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine Section at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Asare is dedicated to treating patients with obstructive sleep apnea and has formed the Compassionate CPAP Service to help underserved communities gain access to CPAP machines, along with running a CPAP support group at the Yale Sleep Center. Having been born in Ghana and educated in the United States, her interest in service was developed early, leading her to organize service projects and mission trips during medical school.
