Biography

Vivian Afrah Puplampu is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Regina. She has a PhD and over a decade of experience as a nurse educator. Before joining the University of Regina in 2016, Dr. Puplampu began her academic career at the University of Ghana's School of Nursing and Midwifery. Her research primarily focuses on aging in place, quality of life for older adults, and the experiences of Black nursing students in academia. Dr. Puplampu has successfully secured funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) for her studies. She has published extensively in national and international peer-reviewed journals on various topics, including nursing education and social connection among older adults. Her passion lies in fostering community engagement through nursing education, with a particular emphasis on context-based learning approaches.
