Viviane Fahrni is a doctoral student at ETH Zurich in the Agricultural Economics Policy group since April 2023. Her research focuses on the adoption of collective agri-environmental schemes for biodiversity conservation in European agriculture. Her aim is to understand farmers' motivations to participate in these schemes and the factors influencing their adoption decisions. To achieve this, she conducts surveys, choice experiments, ex-ante policy analyses, and employs agent-based modeling. She is involved in the GreeNet project, which is funded by Biodiversa+ and aims to support the protection of biodiversity in ecosystems on land and at sea. Viviane holds a Master of Science in Agricultural Science, majoring in Agricultural Economics and also has minors in General Crop Science and Data Science Technology. Her master's thesis focused on the economic policy of sustainable weed management in Swiss wheat production. Previously, she completed a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science, where her bachelor thesis investigated drivers of net CO2 and H2O flux anomalies in intensively managed grasslands in Switzerland.
The GRE is mandatory for students who did not obtain their Bachelor's degree in an EU/EFTA state. Some departments (e.g., Computer Science) have specific ECTS credit requirements in core subjects.
