Vivienne Xiangwei Guo is a historian specializing in modern China. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Peking University and her master’s degree from the London School of Economics. Dr. Guo completed her doctoral research in history at King’s College London. Currently, Dr. Guo is working on a project funded by BA/Leverhulme titled 'New Self, New World:', which examines the influence of French language among Chinese intellectuals in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She teaches a range of modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, covering critical periods of China’s transformation from imperial state to the People’s Republic.
