Biography

Vladimir Kolesnikov received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Toronto in 2006. Prior to joining Georgia Tech, he was a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Labs in the Enabling Computing Technologies domain. Kolesnikov has worked in the field of cryptography since 2000, focusing on the practical foundational aspects of secure computation, particularly two-party computation. He has authored numerous papers and patent applications aimed at improving cryptographic techniques, including garbled circuits and homomorphic encryption. His research interests extend to key exchange mechanisms and their definitional aspects. Kolesnikov has also been involved in the design and analysis of Smart Grid networks, Storage Area Networks, and wireless biometric authentication systems. He has served on various standards committees, including WiMAX, and has held principal investigator roles in IARPA and ONR projects.
