Vladimir works on twentieth-century Yugoslav and European history, initially focusing on the socio-political, economic, business, and diplomatic history of Yugoslavia during the Cold War. He is currently researching the impact of the rise and fall of Yugoslavia on the British left, as well as the historical legacies of communism, non-alignment, anti-imperialism, development, and de-colonization. Since joining the University of Glasgow in 2015, Vladimir has completed his MSc in Russian and Eastern European Studies at Oxford University and his PhD in International History at the London School of Economics (LSE). He has held fellowships at LSE and served as an Assistant Professor of History at the National Research University – Higher School of Economics in Moscow. He has been involved with editorial boards for various journals and actively engages in public debates through contributions to both English and Serbo-Croatian media. Currently, he serves as Co-Vice President of the University College Union: Glasgow (UCUG).
