Dr. Vlastimil Masek attended the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo, completing a five-year Dipl. His teaching encompasses topics such as industrial control instrumentation, signal conditioning, sensors, and automatic control, and he plays an active role in the Oil and Gas Development Group, where he teaches supervisory control, data acquisition, and remote sensing in oil and gas process control. Dr. Masek is a licensed professional engineer with research interests in multiphase flow sensing, in-flow phase separation, oil spill remediation, wide-area ocean current sensing using transit time acoustics, and seabed marine instrumentation networks, with ongoing projects including a commercial spin-off called Seaformatics Systems Inc.
