Biography

Brooke Elliott is the Dean and Josef Margot Lakonishok Professor of Business in the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She leads the College in developing a compelling strategic vision and continues to build a distinctive brand identity, assessing and expanding Gies Business' portfolio of on-campus and online programs to strengthen its position as an innovative leader among the nation’s business schools. Previously, she served as the Executive Associate Dean for Academic Programs and EY Professor, where she provided strategic oversight of the academic degree and non-degree programs. Brooke was also the Associate Dean for Online Programs, overseeing the development and execution of Gies' online education strategy, and was the Head of the Department of Accountancy. She earned her Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Washington and her BS and MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Recognized as an expert in accounting, her work has been cited in prominent outlets such as Fortune and the Wall Street Journal. Currently, she serves on the board of directors and audit committee of Gordon Food Service.
