Biography

Prior to retiring, Professor Keyserling taught courses in ergonomics and safety engineering, along with research proposal writing. His research interests included evaluating and predicting work posture, controlling posture-related fatigue injuries, and improving workstation design. He also explored safety culture and safety/ergonomic issues related to facilities maintenance. Additionally, Professor Keyserling held various administrative positions, including IOE Graduate Program Chair and Director of the University of Michigan Center for Occupational Health and Safety Engineering. He served as President of the Association of University Programs in Occupational Health and Safety. Furthermore, he is a Certified Safety Professional and a Certified Professional Ergonomist.
