Dr. W Rozmus

Biography

W Rozmus is a Professor in the Faculty of Science at the University of Alberta, specializing in theoretical computational plasma physics. He earned his M.Sc. from the University of Warsaw in Poland in 1973 and completed his Ph.D. at the Institute of Nuclear Studies in Warsaw in 1978. Rozmus has held visiting professorships at prestigious institutions, including the National Ignition Facility at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in the USA, Imperial College in London, and the Centre de Physique Theorique at Ecole Polytechnique in France. His research has significantly contributed to the development of theoretical numerical methods in plasma theory, particularly focusing on nonlinear phenomena and transport kinetic theory. He has worked on modeling plasma interactions in laboratory experiments, emphasizing laser-plasma interactions and inertial confinement fusion experiments. In recent years, Rozmus has expanded his research into the application of ultrashort laser pulse technologies to various fields, including astrophysical studies and biomedical applications, particularly in cytometry and cell sorting.
