Dr. Wafa Polis

Biography

Wafa Polis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Windsor. She holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, as well as both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in the same field from the University of Windsor and the University of Mosul, respectively. Her teaching and research interests focus on rehabilitating concrete structures with fiber-reinforced polymers, the use of recyclable earth-based materials, and the development of rapid shelter solutions in response to disasters. Professor Polis also specializes in infrastructure health monitoring using digital image correlation techniques. She has contributed significantly to her field, evidenced by her involvement in several key publications and conferences addressing issues challenging modern engineering. Her dedication to advancing civil engineering practices through innovative teaching methodologies and research is evident in her active participation in professional associations.
