Dr. Waguih Elmaraghy

Biography

Waguih ElMaraghy is a Professor in the Mechanical, Automotive & Materials Engineering at the University of Windsor. He has made significant contributions to the fields of mechanical engineering with a focus on the design and development of smart products and systems. His research interests also include complexity management in design and manufacturing, as well as sustainable and changeable products, systems, and supply chains. ElMaraghy is a recognized figure in the engineering community and holds multiple fellowships, including those from the Canadian Academy for Engineering, the International Academy for Production Research, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Additionally, he is known for his work on product variety management and engineering design paradigms, having authored and co-authored key articles in prestigious engineering journals. He completed his Bachelor’s Honours and Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering at Cairo University and McMaster University respectively, before earning his Doctorate from McMaster University. Professor ElMaraghy is actively involved in various professional engineering bodies, enhancing both academic knowledge and practical application in the engineering sector.
