Biography

Wai-Peng received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the National University of Singapore in 2009. He is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Information Technology at Monash University, Malaysia. Wai-Peng is a recipient of the prestigious British Academy Newton Advanced Fellowship in 2017. He has led and completed several research projects funded by Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education, Motorola Technology Pte Ltd, and the Japan Sumitomo Foundation. His research interests are quite diverse and include feature selection for decision-making in logistics and supply chain management using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and machine learning regression. He is engaged in developing an innovation diffusion model utilizing blockchain technology for the agriculture supply chain. Additionally, he is passionate about applying machine learning and geospatial analytics in health epidemiology to predict occurrences of non-communicable diseases. His work significantly contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on education and sustainable practices.
