Biography

Wail Gourich obtained his Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) and PhD in Chemical Engineering from Monash University Malaysia, completing the latter in 2025. His research focuses on the processing of oils and fats for food and fuel applications, emphasizing life cycle assessment. Wail has extensive experience in managing and supporting industry-funded projects, particularly involving pilot-scale process configuration, operation, and optimization. As a lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering, he is actively involved in the MIPO Biorefinery Lab. Wail’s teaching includes courses on mechanics of fluids, introduction to chemical processes, and pilot plant projects. He is dedicated to advancing sustainable processing in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
