Biography

Walid Ben-Amar is a full professor and holder of the Ian Telfer Research Fellowship at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) in Ontario and holds a Master's degree in Accounting from Université du Québec à Montréal and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from HEC Montréal. Professor Ben-Amar teaches financial accounting in undergraduate and graduate programs at Telfer. He received the University of Ottawa’s Excellence in Education Prize in 2019. His research interests include corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, and corporate disclosure strategies. Currently, his work, funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), focuses on climate risk reporting and governance. He has published his research in prestigious academic journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics and the British Journal of Management.
