Biography

Walter Hader is an Associate Professor at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, specializing in pediatric neurosurgery and neuromodulation. He received his undergraduate degree from Mercyhurst College, Pennsylvania, in 1987, and completed his medical degree at the University of Saskatchewan in 1994. Dr. Hader's current research focuses on determinants of health in children with hydrocephalus, surgical treatment of temporal lobe epilepsy in an intra-operative MR setting, and the neuropsychological and visual consequences of selective amygdalo-hippocampectomies versus standard temporal lobectomies in patients with intractable epilepsy. Clinically, he specializes in epilepsy and pediatric neurosurgery.
