Dr. Walter Lepore

Biography

Dr. Walter Lepore is an Assistant Professor in the School of Public Administration at the University of Victoria. He holds a PhD in Public Administration from the University of Victoria, specializing in applied policy evaluation and organizational analysis. With extensive experience in community-based research, Dr. Lepore has actively contributed to various global research initiatives, including leading the Knowledge for Change (K4C) Consortium under the UNESCO Chair in Community-Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education. His current research focuses on wicked problems in decision-making, incorporating traditional and local scientific knowledge systems for social-ecological sustainability. Over the years, he has taught numerous graduate-level courses related to public administration, quantitative and qualitative research methods, and environmental economics, enhancing the academic experience of students through experiential learning. Dr. Lepore's work emphasizes multi-stakeholder engagement and collaborative research to address complex societal issues, contributing significantly to effective governance and policy reforms within the public sector. He has also served as an independent consultant on over 20 policy evaluations and projects for government agencies and NGOs, further solidifying his impactful presence in the academic and public sectors.
