Biography

Walter Moser graduated in mechanical engineering with a focus on material sciences from Ruhr Universität Bochum and Technische Universität Munich, Germany. He has a dedicated career spanning over 20 years in the development of orthopedic implants, instruments, and associated surgical techniques. He completed his PhD at Technische Universität Munich in 1989, with a thesis on the crystallization of mechanical properties of cobalt-base alloys. Since then, he has contributed to the development of orthopedic implants for international MedTech companies in Switzerland, including advancements in Total Knee Replacement Systems during the 1990s at PROTEK AG and leading product development at Mathys AG Bettlach. Moser has been an advocate for computer-assisted surgery in orthopedics, establishing a leading department focused on navigated minimally invasive surgical techniques for total knee and hip joint replacements. In 2009, he managed the start-up company ATESOS medical AG, focusing on innovative technical solutions in orthopedics.
