Biography

Walter Ricciardi is an Adjunct Professor at New York University School of Law, where he teaches a seminar course on issues related to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Enforcement. He has extensive experience in securities litigation and regulatory defense, currently serving as a partner in the Litigation Department of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. Prior to his position at Paul Weiss, he worked as the Deputy Director of the Division of Enforcement at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where he was responsible for planning and directing the Commission's enforcement efforts. Ricciardi has also served as the head of the Boston office of the SEC and has held various significant roles within PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP after the merger with Coopers & Lybrand. He began his legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable Charles R. Richey in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. His academic credentials include a J.D. cum laude from New York University School of Law and an A.B. in Psychology from Columbia College. He contributed to the New York University Law Review as a Note and Comment Editor.
