Biography

Wassim M. Haddad received B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from Florida Institute of Technology, specializing in dynamical systems control. He worked as a consultant in the Structural Controls Group at Harris Corporation from 1987 to 1994. In 1988, he joined the faculty at Florida Institute of Technology and developed the Systems Control Option graduate program. In 1994, he became a member of the faculty at the School of Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology, where he is currently a Professor. Dr. Haddad's extensive research contributions in linear and nonlinear dynamical systems control are documented through over 500 archival journal and conference publications. His recent research focuses on nonlinear robust adaptive control, large-scale systems, and hierarchical nonlinear switching control. He has authored and co-authored several significant texts on dynamical systems. He has received several distinctions, including being named an NSF Presidential Faculty Fellow and an IEEE Fellow, due to his substantial contributions to robust and nonlinear control systems.
